EarthWalk Studio
started out as a room filled with my touring gear. It was set up so that I could either write new music or program my rig for upcoming tours. It was really a collection of rack mounted "synths du jour", keyboards and the requisite sound reinforcement to make lots of noise. It eventually evolved into a recording space independent of my road equipment.

Since the advent of more powerful computer systems and the bigger sound design capabilities that these new systems offered, EarthWalk has slimed down in size but increased ten-fold in power.

The latest releases of new Virtual Effects, Virtual Synths and Samplers have given a very large studio ability and sound to a more compact studio space.

Although it has changed and morphed throughout the years, It has remained a Mac based studio (3 iMacs linked by Vienna Ensemble Pro) with a UAD Apollo Interface. The controllers employed in the system are a Kontakt Komplete Kontrol A61, A Yamaha Montage 8, a Roli Seaboard Rise 49 and a Kontakt Maschine MK3.
Cubase is the DAW of Choice.

The Komplete Kontrol Units make searching for sounds in a 4 terabyte library a whole lot easier.

The Yamaha Conservatory C6, remains in the living room but it's mic'd up and always ready to record, which is done via a 2 AKG 414's and a portable 24 bit, 48K Zoom unit.

The files can then be imported back into the session.
